Children's Ministries
Oaks offers a Sunday school program for students age three through fifth grade. The class is an interactive class, in which the students go on nature walks to see all that God has created and participate in other exciting adventures. The class is taught in a tent inside one of the classrooms. The tent is a symbol of the Old Testament times and gives the children a sense of their own area and their special part in the life of the church.
Bible and Other Studies
Oaks Presbyterian Church periodically offers Bible and other guided studies for congregants and visitors alike. Some of these studies include fellowship and a meal. In Lent, Oaks Presbyterian generally holds a study series on a topic appropriate to the season. In April 2007, we began hosting the study series "The Bible in 90 Days." Other Bible studies and fellowship gatherings will be posted on the church's website as they are organized.
Outreach
"For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in; I needed clothes, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you looked after me; I was in prison, and you came to visit me. . . . I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
-Matthew 25:35B36, 40 (NIV)
In expressing God's love through Jesus Christ, Oaks Presbyterian Church reaches out to both the local community and to the world. These are some examples of the programs in which Oaks Presbyterian participates and to which it donates:
